Day to Serve

The Chesapeake Bay Trust is proud to partner with Governor Martin O’Malley on the Day to Serve, an initiative created last year to engage Marylanders in volunteer activities designed to improve the environment and end childhood hunger. As an environmental partner, Trust encourages you to participate in one of two ways: volunteer at one event posted at www.daytoserve.org, or consider organizing a tree planting or a stream clean-up project during the weeks of September 15-29. For organizations in need of resources, applications can be made to the Trust through this Request for Proposals for up to $500. We strongly encourage you to apply online and read the full RFP here. Proposals are due August 1, and decisions will be made by September 1.

What this funds: Activities such as tree plantings and trash removal projects. To see a longer list of potential projects, read the full RFP.

Who can apply: Non-profit organizations, community associations, faith-based organizations and more. See RFP for full list of organizations.

How much can be awarded: Up to $500.
