2014-2015 Environmental Education K-12 Mini Grant Schedule
The Trust is still unable to provide reimbursement funding; this means that project start dates must occur after the date of decision. Deadlines, decision dates, and acceptable project start dates are listed below. Applications must be received by the Trust by the deadline date.

Mini Grant Environmental Education Program Deadlines (no faxes or emails will be accepted):

Deadline Date                             Decision Date                          Project Start Date
January 16, 2015, 5:00pm         March 13, 2015                       no earlier than March 14, 2015

Examples of application and project timing:

  • If your project starts on September 1, 2014, you must apply by the June 13, 2014, deadline. You cannot wait for the August 8, 2014 deadline because you will not be notified until October 3, 2014, after your project start date.
  • If your field trip occurs on March 1, 2015, you must apply by August 8, 2014, nine months in advance, in order to receive notification before your trip.
  • If your field trip occurs on April 1, 2015, you can apply by any of the three deadlines. However, if you wait until the January 16, 2015, deadline, you will not find out until March 13, 2015, only about three weeks before your field trip. If you need more lead time for planning purposes, you should apply by the August 8, 2014 deadline.

Attention Applicants:

There is a NEW guidance for applicants and a NEW proposal narrative format for K-12 Mini-Grants. These changes reflect on going efforts by CBT to support the integration of environmental education with efforts to improve and enhance instruction inside and outside of the classroom. The proposal narrative is intended to serve as both an application and a planning tool to assist the applicant in providing a high quality environmental education experience for their students.

Applicants will be required to complete and upload a narrative form depending on their type of request:
Watershed Issue Investigations Narrative Form and Example
Professional Development Trainings Narrative Form

*Applicants are strongly encouraged to apply several days prior to the deadline, due to potential for high website traffic on the date of the deadline. Technical assistance for online application cannot be guaranteed on the deadline date.*
