The Chesapeake Bay Trust was created in 1985 by the Maryland General Assembly as a non-profit grant-making organization with the mission of engaging the citizens of Maryland in efforts to protect and restore the Chesapeake Bay and its tributaries. The Trust’s 19-member Board of Trustees has two ex-officio representatives from the State General Assembly and one each from the Maryland Department of Natural Resources (MDNR), Maryland Department of the Environment (MDA), and Maryland Department of Agriculture (MDA). The remaining fourteen members of the Board are appointed by the Governor. Chesapeake Bay Trust Board of Trustees 2010-2011
