Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay
 is a regional nonprofit organization that builds and fosters partnerships to protect and to restore the Bay and its rivers.

Canaan Valley Institute
 is a nonprofit, non-advocacy organization committed to helping communities in the Appalachian highlands of Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia and all of West Virginia build their capacity to address environmental or economic problems by implementing locally determined solutions.

Center for Watershed Protection is dedicated to protecting and restoring watersheds through effective land and water management. CWP provides assistance is managing storm water, restoring watersheds, encouraging better site design, and watershed planning through training, consulting and publications.

Chesapeake Bay Program is a regional partnership that has led and directed the restoration of the Chesapeake Bay since 1983. The partners include the states of Maryland, Pennsylvania and Virginia; the District of Columbia ; the Chesapeake Bay Commission, the Environmental Protection Agency, and participating citizen advisory groups. The Program provides information on funding, activities, workshops and trainings, Bay trends and indicators and other important topics.

Clean Water Network is an alliance of more than 1,000 public interest organizations around the country working together to strengthen and implement federal clean water and wetlands policy.

 

Community & Environmental Defense Services helps people defend their community and environmental from the impact of sprawl and other poorly planned land development activities. CEDS provides consulting services, free publications, and referrals.

 

Land Trust Alliance promotes voluntary private land conservation to benefit communities and natural systems. LTA provides training, publications, liability insurance, and an annual meeting for Land Trusts.

 

Potomac Conservancy protects lands vital to the health, beauty, and enjoyment of the Potomac River and its tributaries by providing conservation solutions and hands-on restoration opportunities throughout the watershed. PC holds trainings and supports land trusts and other groups in the Potomac watershed.

 

Pennsylvania Organization for Watersheds and Rivers is committed to promoting awareness for and assistance among groups and individuals working to improve the quality of Pennsylvania’s natural water systems. POWR provides training, resources and other member benefits.

 

River Network helps people organize to protect and restore rivers and their watersheds. RN specializes in helping river and watershed-based nonprofits with organizational development as well as with technical subjects such as monitoring and assessment and using the Clean Water Act.

 

Smart Growth Network works to encourage development that serves the economy, community, and the environment. SGN shares information, innovative policies, tools and ideas and cultivates strategies to address barriers to, and to advance opportunities for, smart growth.

 

Waterkeeper Alliance strengthens the impact of individual waterkeepers by providing a centralized source of scientific, legal, media and capacity-building resources.

 

West Virginia Rivers Coalition seeks the conservation and restoration of West Virginia’s exceptional rivers and streams. WVRC provides training and one-on-one consulting on issues of concern to local watershed groups.
