Improving the ecological health of the Nation’s largest estuary presents huge challenges, and will require focused efforts from every level of government, from local watershed groups and regional environmental organizations, from individuals, and from us… the organizations and decision-makers who comprise the Chesapeake Bay Funders Network.
The Funders Network creates opportunities for funding organizations like yours to make a real difference by providing current and objective information on policy issues, by helping organizations focus on the most pressing Bay and watershed problems, and by providing networking opportunities with other funders which lead to leveraged, effective outcomes aimed at protecting and restoring the health of Chesapeake Bay and its watershed. Current and Future Benefits for Funders Network Participants
Crafted by grant makers for grant makers, the Chesapeake Bay Funders Network is a goal oriented organization that fosters opportunities to collaborate on shared interests in Bay and watershed restoration issues and activities.
The Network provides members with:
• objective information on the policy and science behind Bay and watershed restoration;
• forums for discussion of hot topics and project experiences in a funders-only setting;
• networking opportunities from which to explore project leads and collaborate on project funding;
• a Chesapeake Bay Funders Network website to promote effective information sharing between grant makers and encourage participation by a wide range of organizations;
• online database that provides a voluntary repository of grant makers project information, areas of interest, and funding leads; and
• web-based grantee survey information that characterize the challenges of local watershed restoration efforts.
