Workshop: “A Watershed Approach to Community Greening”
November 2006
In conjunction with the Trust’s Community Greening initiative, CBT hosted the first of three workshops with the Center for Watershed Protection and
grant partners, to provide local communities with information on how to conduct an assessment of their urban tree canopy (UTC) and on how to
increase tree canopy and reap its environmental benefits. The first workshop focused on approaches to forest cover assessments, forest cover goals
and the Chesapeake Bay, selecting the best forest conservation and reforestation sites and a real-world example from the city of Annapolis on their
UTC assessment and goal setting process.
