Grant Information

The Chesapeake Bay Trust is a private, non-profit grant making organization.  Our grant programs are designed to meet the mission outlined by the Maryland General Assembly when they created to the Trust to "promote public awareness of and participation in the restoration of the Chesapeake Bay."  With this goal in mind, the Trust has crafted multiple grant programs with specific objectives.  Our current portfolio of programs includes:

  • Capacity Building
  • Environmental Education
  • Fisheries
  • Living Shorelines
  • Mini Grants
  • Pioneer
  • Stewardship
  • Targeted Watershed
  • Urban Greening

The Chesapeake Bay Trust has awarded over $24 million in grants to 7,500 grantees.  With 90% of every dollar donated going directly to grant programs, the Trust  continues to provide critical support to the bay effort.
