The Chesapeake Bay Trust is a private, nonprofit grant making organization whose mission is to promote public awareness of and participation in the protection and restoration of the Chesapeake Bay and its tributaries. Since its inception by the Maryland General Assembly in 1985, the Trust has awarded more than $24 million in grants to over 7,500 grantees. These grants have engaged hundreds of thousands of Marylanders in education and restoration projects that have had a measurable impact on the Chesapeake Bay.
